The Learning Disability Advisory Group (LDAG) was set up in 2012 to advise the Deputy Minister for Social Services within Welsh Government on the issues influencing the lives of people with a learning disability in Wales and those who support them.

All members of the group have an interest in improving the lives of people with a learning disability and their families/carers in Wales. Members come from a variety of backgrounds including health, social care, research and the voluntary sector as well as parent/carer representatives and two individuals with a learning disability, including one of the co-Chairs.

The group meets regularly to discuss issues and provide advice to Welsh Government to help shape policy and practice in Wales.

A number of sub-groups have been set up to look at particular topics and carry out specific pieces of work. These sub-groups include people with relevant knowledge and expertise from outside the Learning Disability Advisory Group.
